EcoLogik Apprentice Applications Now Open!

EcoLogik Apprentices work with mentor in the greenhouse at Cabrillo National Monument to propagate new plants and seeds.

Female-identifying youth aged 13-18 are invited to apply to the spring/summer (May - August) Conservation and Environmental Stewardship Apprenticeship Program (CESAP).

If selected, apprentices will have the opportunity to:

  • Become involved in ongoing scientific research projects

  • Develop innovative science communication methods

  • Speak publicly and in the media

  • Grow teamwork and leadership skills

  • Learn from diverse women in STEM and join a mentorship program

Apprentice Requirements:

  • Must be female-identifying

  • Must be 13-18 years of age

  • Must be able to meet once a week, either in-person or online (day TBD)

  • Must be an active participant who is enthusiastic about learning, nature, and general STEM topics

  • Must be willing to commit 1-3 hours to their apprenticeship per week (illness, holidays, and other exceptions apply)

The spring/summer cohort will be notified of their status no later than April 15th, 2024. The acceptance criteria is based on a) requirement fulfillment, b) application responses, c) diversity (age, zip code, background), and d) order application was received.
