ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

The EcoLogik Summer Experience is a free 2-week STEM summer day camp for underrepresented female and female identifying youth, ages 10 - 16. This unique program fuses ecology and technology to connect youth to the natural resources and science of America's National Parks. During camp, participants explore the themes of biodiversity, marine science, nature photography, and so much more!

“EcoLogik is important because it gives underrepresented girls the tools and resources they need to succeed ... and helps them to visualize their STEM dreams and shape them into reality.”

- 2018 EcoLogik Participant, Age 14

Update Regarding EcoLogik Summer Camp 2025

Dear EcoLogik Community,

We regret to inform you that unfortunately we will not be able to offer the EcoLogik Summer Camp Experience at Cabrillo National Monument this year as planned due to sudden and unexpected changes with the federal government. Unfortunately, federal public lands have been subject to a number of changes in the work they are permitted to do and are operating at a significantly reduced capacity. While we work to establish a new location for EcoLogik Summer Camp in 2026, we wanted to direct your attention to some of the other opportunities that The EcoLogik Institute will be offering this summer.

Interested in learning how conservation biologists conduct science in the field? Find one of our community workshops on our upcoming events page.

Are you a young woman or nonbinary person between the ages of 13 and 18? You may be interested in applying for our Conservation and Environmental Stewardship Apprentice Program (CESAP) through the EcoLogik Leadership Academy. Sign up for our newsletter to see when applications go live!

Interested in meeting Women in STEM mentors? Through June 30th, tune in to our Mentorship Monday series, an opportunity to have a spill all chat on Zoom with women who work in various STEM fields. More information on our
upcoming events page.

In July, come hang out with the IF/THEN STEAM Squad during San Diego Comic-Con! These women in STEAM superheroes will be showcasing their science superpowers at several Comic-Con experiences, including events for the whole family, such as the Genius in the House STEAM Fair at The Fleet Science Center. More information will be advertised in our social media and newsletter as July approaches.

Find us on Instagram (@theecologikinstitute) and Facebook (@EcoLogik Institute) to find out about events and opportunities and learn how you can help public lands in this challenging time.

It is our intention to bring the Summer Camp Experience back in 2026, so please be on the lookout for that announcement early next year.
